1 | London | Upon arrival in London, meet your car at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check in and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the city. If it’s shopping that takes your fancy, head towards Oxford Street, which is best known for Selfridges and other big department stores. A visit to the world famous department store ‘Harrods’ in Knightsbridge is also a must! Overnight at the hotel |
2 | London | After breakfast, begin your discovery of London with a city tour conducted on the original London Double Decker bus the ORIGINAL LONDON SIGHTSEEING TOUR. The Original London Tour offers three sightseeing routes that cover all the main sights in Central London augmented by a feeder service that shuttles out to the British Museum and Bloomsbury not on the main routes. As well as the bus tours, free walks and river cruises on the River Thames are also included in the ticket. There is a kids club who get their own commentary and activity book. Tickets are valid for 24hrs. The major sights include Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and Piccadilly Circus. During your hop and hop off tour you can also visit London’s most famous attractions, such as Madame Tussauds, where you can have your photos taken with the celebrities or the Tower of London, where you can see the Crown Jewels. 4 | Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon (SIC basis) | After breakfast join the full day excursion to Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon. Oxford, "The City of Dreaming Spires", is famous the world over for its University and place in history. On arrival enjoy the guided tour of the city after which you will have time to explore on your own the excellent museums, university buildings and shops. After lunch break continue your journey towards Stratford, one of England's most historic and vibrant towns and the birthplace of the famous bard William Shakespeare. Take a tour and discover its secrets, enjoying spectacular views across the city. Make sure you see Scotland’s Crown Jewels, Mons Meg (giant cannon) and St Margaret’s Chapel the oldest building in Edinburgh. Return back and overnight stay at hotel. |
7 | whiskey tour | Enjoy a day of whisky and waterfalls on a day trip from Edinburgh, led by a friendly local guide! After a stop in the stately town of Sterling to see the Wallace Monument, travel through the Scottish Highlands, passing alongside Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Stop at the Famous Grouse whisky distillery for lunch and a tour (both payable at own expense) and, after sampling a wee dram of whisky, continue to the Hermitage, a natural beauty spot that’s home to the impressive Black Linn Falls. |
8 | Sightseeing/ Edinburgh on your own. | There is time for some last minute shopping or sightseeing. Why not visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia, now permanently moored in Edinburgh’s harbour at Leith or enjoy a relaxing stroll in the Royal Botanical Gardens. If you fancy some retail therapy you’ll find the designer label shopping in fashionable George Street. Grand Princes Street provides world-class shops and department stores including Jenners, Edinburgh’s very own version of Harrods! If you’re looking for antiques or quirky souvenirs try friendly Stockbridge or Victoria Street. All to soon it’s time to head to Waverley Station to board your comfortable train for the return journey to London. |
