| 1 | Nairobi - SamburuView Lodge | Jambo! Welcome to the lively capital of Nairobi. On the first day of your Kenya holiday safari make your way to the starting point hotel for a brief pre-departure meeting at 8am. After breakfast, you will travel northwards past Mount Kenya, Africa's second highest mountain (5199m), on the way to the tribal lands of Samburu Game Reserve, where you will spend the rest of the afternoon on a game drive.Samburu is situated in the semi-desert Northern frontier area of Kenya and contains many species not easily found elsewhere in the country, such as Gerenuk, Oryx, Greys Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe. | 2 | Samburu, Shaba & Buffalo Springs National ReserveView Lodge | In the morning set out on a game drive in the park, a great opportunity for photographs and tracking rare wildlife. Afterwards stop off at a local Samburu Village, for a guided tour by local residents, who share very similar traits to the Masai herders. The Samburu are semi-nomadic pastoralists. Cattle, as well as sheep, goats and camels, are of utmost importance to the Samburu culture and way of life. In the afternoon set out on a game drive, crossing over to Buffalo Springs in search of its resident wildlife. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) |
| 3 | Aberdare National Park | On this day of your Kenya holiday safari you will travel to one of Kenya's most diverse parks, Aberdare. After stopping for lunch en-route, arrive at your accommodation and settle in, before heading out on a sunset game drive in the park. The park is home to a large population of Black Rhino, and you may see Leopard, Baboon, Black and White Colobus Monkeys and Sykes monkey. Rarer sightings include Lions, the Golden cat and the Bongo. | 4 | Lake NakuruView Lodge | After breakfast you will depart for Lake Nakuru, stopping en-route at various Great Rift Valley viewpoints before enjoying lunch on arrival. Afterwards head out on an afternoon game drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowned for its huge concentration of Flamingos. See the rare Rothschild Giraffe and numerous other mammals such as Zebra, Impala, Waterbuck, Lion and Buffalo. The drive will stop off at Baboon Cliff and you will watch the sun set over the lake. | 5 | Lake NaivashaView Lodge | Today on your Kenya travel holiday you will journey to Lake Naivasha; a large freshwater lake which is part of the Great Rift Valley. It is home to an abundance of birdlife, including the iconic African Fish Eagle and a large population of African Hippos. In the afternoon you will savour high tea at Joy Adamson´ s famous Elsamere farm. Adamson is known for writing the book "Born free" about raising a Lion cub. Her home is now a conservation centre, focusing on lake ecology and creating environmental awareness. Afterwards you will enjoy a boat cruise on the lake and spot wildlife on the banks. | 6 | Masai Mara National ReserveView Lodge | Today, you will head south-west to our next destination - the Masai Mara, famed for its sweeping plains and the annual Great Wildebeest migration, which is considered to be one of the World's greatest wildlife spectacles. This will be a highlight of your Kenya travel holiday! In the afternoon you will embark on a game drive and there will be good opportunities to see Lion, Elephant, Giraffe and Zebra. | 7 | Masai Mara National ReserveView Lodge | Spend a full day exploring the park while on morning and afternoon game drives. Cross the sweeping plains and see herds of grazers and prides of Lion or perhaps a Leopard lounging in a tree. In the afternoon enjoy an encounter with Kenya's iconic Maasai herders while visiting a local homestead. Their lives revolve around their livestock and they are constantly on the move in search of fresh pastures. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) |
| 8 | Nairobi | On the final day of your Classic Kenya Safari you will have an early wake-up and set out on a game drive. Watch the dawn lighten the bush veldt and investigate the previous night's wildlife activities, by tracking footprints, following bush trails and perhaps even a sighting the remains of a midnight kill. Leaving the famous plains behind you will return to the capital, Nairobi. On arrival, you will be transferred to a hotel in the city centre. Post accommodation is available for travellers continuing on to Tanzania, Mombasa or Zanzibar and should be booked prior to departure. Travellers who have late afternoon or evening flights will be transferred to the airport for their flight home. (Breakfast and Lunch Included) . |
